Unforgettable evening full of music from Romantic times

Grafenegg [ENA] This year the 15th Grafenegg Festival impressed classic music lovers again with the invitation of world renown stars. The evening of the 5th of September 2021 was made unforgettable by the talent and aura of such stars as Renée Feming, Andrés Orozco-Estrada and Filarmonica Della Scala Di Milano. This was a wonderful warm early autumn evening in the romantic park and castle of Grafenegg.

The program included the Ouvertüre from the opera “Der Freischütz” from Carl Maria von Weber, the “Vier letzte Lieder” from Richard Strauss and Symphonie Nr. 2 D-Dur from Johannes Brahms. The guests of the Grafenegg Festival had already possibility to enjoy the talent of Renée Feming in the year 2007 when she was invited for the opening gala of the festival. Renée Feming is the world known opera star from the United States who was performing in various opera houses such as Vienna State Opera in Austria, Royal Opera Covent Garden in the UK, the Teatro alla Scala di Milano in Italy, the Opera Bastille in France and most frequently in the Metropolitan Opera of New York in the US.

Renée Feming is the most known by her wonderful voice in such complex operas as Rusalka of Dvořák, Thaïs of Massenet or Alcina of Händel. Elegant kind of the performing the music of Brahms, Strauss and von Weber, fantastic voice of Renée Feming and highly emotional and intensive art of performing Brahms by Andrés Orozco-Estrada, who is the chief conductor of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the music director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra and by the Filarmonica Della Scala Di Milano, created especially strong impression and made this fully dedicated to the music of Romantic times evening unforgettable.

By the end of the evening Andrés Orozco-Estrada surprised the guests of Grafenegg with a wonderful present, the Ouvertüre from the Rossini opera “Barber of Seville”. This opulent evening marked the end of the 15th Grafenegg Festival and left us full of expectations and hopes for the 16th Grafenegg Festival which should take place during the summer of the year 2022 at the promises of the Grafenegg castle.
